Sausage Tray Bake with Honey & Herbs

Sausage Tray Bake with Honey & Herbs

Don’t you just love those ‘all in one’ throw it in a tray bake suppers?! Well here’s a new one for you  and its a Sausage Tray Bake with Honey & Herbs and it’s delicious

I call them Tray Bakes – they can be sweet or savoury to be honest!

Am I lazy? Possibly

A proper easy sausage dinner

It’s so simple, but yet it’s a ‘proper dinner,’ if you know what I mean?

It’s probably one of the easiest dinners on the whole blog!

Takes 10 minutes to prepare and 60 minutes to bake – with little attention.

This means you can have it not only at the weekend but also in the week!

It’s perfect really as you can whack it in when you’re in from work, do all those other jobs.

Like homework with the kids, loading the washer, don’t know about you but theres alway stuff to be done.

And by the time you’re done with all that, supper’s ready!

Honey & Herb Sausage Bake

Which gives you loads of time to do other things …… or simply sit down and relax?

Yummy sausages, sweet onions and honey and wonderfully intense flavour veggies! All together with wicked roast potatoes.

AND no pans to wash up! What’s not to like?!

You could also throw in other ingredients like parsnips & sweed – oh just go for it!

Sticky Sausages

Enjoy the sticky loveliness, it really is very good

Honey & Herb Sausage Bake

To serve your Sausage Tray Bake

I simply make some gravy to go with this Honey & Herb Sausage Tray Bake. Then heat some garden peas or steam some broccoli and way hey you’re done.

You have all your other dinner in the tray!

I promise you everyone will love it from kids to adults!

Serves 2 (3 sausages each)

Large roasting tin

Preheat oven 200C/400F/Gas6

  • 6  Pork Sausages, Lincolnshire whatever you fancy – just buy the best you can afford
  • 2 small or 1 large Red Onion, peeled and cut into large chunks
  • 1 Clove Garlic, peeled and very finely chopped
  • 2 medium sizes potatoes, peeled and cut into quarters
  • Big handful baby Carrots
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped fresh herbs, I used Rosemary, Sage & Thyme (you need these)
  • Drizzle Olive Oil
  • 100g Mushrooms,  halved
  • 1 leek, slice into 0.5cm slices
  • Drizzle of Honey
  • Salt & Black Pepper

Preparation Method

Large roasting tin

Preheat oven 200C/400F/Gas6

  1. Prick and toss your sausages into the large roasting tin and add your garlic and onions 🙂
  2. Next chuck in your potatoes, carrots and herbs
  3. Now a good drizzle olive oil over the lot
  4. Pop into the oven for 20 minutes
  5. After 20 minutes give it a stir around
  6. Then add in your mushrooms and leeks a quick drizzle of oil if you need it
  7. Find the sausages and drizzle those in honey and season with salt & black pepper
  8. Turn the oven up to 225C/445F/Gas7 – bake for 20 minutes more until golden and all your veg and your potatoes are tender
  9. And thats it!  – I served simply with gravy and garden peas and a further sprinkling of fresh herbs
