Buddha Bowls

Apparently they are going  to be the in thing,  and we’re jumping on the bandwagon with our own creation.

What is a Buddha Bowl?

(Buddha bowls, sometimes referred to as glory or hippie bowls, are hearty, filling dishes made of various greens, raw or roasted veggies, beans and a healthy grain like quinoa or brown rice. Sometimes they also include toppings like nuts, seeds and dressings for added texture and flavour).

The great thing about them is how easy they are to make, and you can make a little go a long way – for a low price as well.

So what’s in this Chicken Buddha Bowl?

This  Chicken, hummus and quinoa Buddha bowl is made up of delicious hummus, tasty grilled chicken, healthy quinoa.

All the nutrient packed goodness of avocado, red onion, plum tomatoes, cucumber and red chilli.

How to make the perfect Chicken Buddha Bowl

There may be a lot of steps to create the perfect Buddha bowl, but its not as complicated as it seems at first glance.

Starting off with the chicken, rub in salt and black pepper to the fillet. Next, grill it on the Andrew James Griddle Pan   for around 20 minutes. Remember to flip it continuously so it doesn’t burn, and make sure it’s cooked all the way through.

Now, put it aside for use later on. To make the quinoa, simply cook it according to the instructions on the packet. When it’s done, add the chopped spring onion.

To make the rest of the bowl, slice one red onion. Chop a third of a cucumber, a handful of plum tomatoes a ¼ red chilli and finally half an avocado.

Everything except the chilli should be arranged around the bowl, including the chicken.

When this has been done, put a dollop of hummus on top of it all and top with the chopped chilli.
