Don’t Worry be Happy….

Don’t Worry be Happy….

Don’t Worry be Happy….

Are you a worrier? Why do we actually worry, I wonder? I just want to say Don’t worry be happy (sings)

I often think about this. Now I’m a bit older I’m  trying to teach myself and drum it into my brain, that worrying doesn’t actually help – so why do it?

Easier said than done hey?

I was talking to someone recently about my worrying and they tried to help me in a few ways and I thought might be interesting for you?

We need to ask ourselves:

1. What are we worrying about, is it big stuff or small stuff? Is it health, money, kids, what?

2. What can we do about it? Can we change it? Yes or no?

3. What is the likelihood of what we are worrying about ever actually happening?

4. Do we have any facts? Or are we worrying about what might happen? Will it ever? Probably not….

5. Do we want to wake up in 10 years time – realising that we’ve wasted the majority of that time consistently worrying? What a waste of time!

I don’t have any answers but what I have realised is that worrying does not help any situation!

Has it ever helped a situation for you?

Are you scared of  ‘not worrying about something’ in case the ‘not worrying’ causes it to actually happen? Now that’s deep! But I think you know what I mean.

And let’s face it, if whatever we are worrying about does happen – then we WILL deal with it anyway – we have to.

Breeze through life without worry?

I envy those happy go lucky peeps who seem to breeze through life without a care in the world, but is that really true?

I think we all get concerned about situations – which I guess is human nature. So when does worrying become a problem?

I suppose when if affects things that we do or stops us doing things?

So we must STOP – we must rationalise and try and work out ways to eliminate or at least calm these worries.

I have also learnt that tiredness, hormones, stressful situations make my worrying worse, it’s like a vicious circle.

So let me leave you with a  theory – ‘Worry’  is only ‘thoughts’ and thoughts are only in your head and they haven’t happened, so they are not real and mean nothing – so forget them ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope at least some of that makes sense.

What if’s?

So let’s stop the ‘What if’s’ because what if it never happens and we wake up in 20 years time wishing we’d just got on with it….. and remember incessant worrying is sooooo  bad for your wrinkles ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now let me get back to developing some nice recipes for you…..

Don’t Worry be Happy!

Big Love Cx

I think it helps on the worry front an I think it’s called self-care?

  1. Another thing that someone said to me is ‘Worrying is like praying for bad things to happen’. Makes you think it’s probably not a good thing to be doing then! Quite hard to stop when you’re a seasoned worrier though.

  2. Definitely very true and very appropriate for me to read today – thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ #BBP

    1. You are welcome lovely! I read it often – trying to educate myself to STOP worrying Cx
